We had a visit to Cornwall's Eden Project. It wasn't looking its best, because of the time of year, but we still enjoyed our visit - especially as there weren't many other visitors about.

Getting nearer the biomes.
There are lots of planting going on at Eden, as symbolised by this blue 'man' with the red gloves.
Here we are below, now inside the rain forest biome for the next eleven photos. It is said to be the world's largest indoor rain forest.
Yes, a robin keeping warm in the biome. He came and sat beside me.
That's all for the Rainforest biome for today.

ReplyDeleteWe have a pass to Eden so often pop in to see the seasonal changes. It gets very busy in the summer season but nice and quiet at the moment.

ReplyDeleteI remember back in 2016 when I was in Tasmania how The Eden project was thinking of building a similar dome in Hobart, but nothing has come to fruition as of 2024.

ReplyDeleteIt's been a hell of a summer, but hopefully we Aussies can breathe easy for the next nine months at least ... except those poor buggers waiting for insurance companies to fix their damaged homes.

ReplyDeleteHi Mike, I've enjoyed this trip around the biomes. It's a wonderful place and you're fortunate to be able to visit so often, especially during these cold days. The Rainforest is really impressive, I have Robins in my garden and that one in the Biome knows how to keep warm. Take care, David.
DeleteHello David, thanks. We have a robin in our garden who seems to follow me as I do a bit of gardening. As for Eden, it is nice to be able to visit when the mood takes it, though we have to book a time nowadays. Raining here again today!
