Some colour and flowers I have snapped in our garden this month. We had some wonderful hot, sunny weather but it has now turned to rain and quite windy at times - thus several photos with raindrops!
Always like dahlia and lilies because they are mostly trouble free and pop up year after year.
The flowers in the vase on our kitchen windowsill were all blown over by the wind and rain. I think I need to give the flowers better supports!
Hydrangeas are a little damp and some of the heads are now fading.
A damp gladioli which survived the wind ...
… and fuchsia don't seem to mind raindrops.

You have some lovely flowers there Mike and beautifully photographed too. My favourites at the moment are fuschias, I got a dozen or so as plugs from THompson & Morgan and they've flowered well. They're half Hardy annuals so I'm hoping to protect and keep them over winter.

Thanks David, I think the photos make the garden look better than it is! We've had the same fuchsias for several years, they winter well here. We occasionally pull off a few small shoots and put them in water - roots soon appear and then we transfer to plant pots.
DeleteI've put some checks cuttings into water. No sign of any roots forming but they have remained fresh, the leaves are really healthy and haven't wilted, so I'm hoping roots will soon appear.
DeleteAll very beautiful! A blooming garden is a glorious thing and you are fortunate to have agreeable weather! We have bleeding heart in early spring but not enough sun for Glads and such as the yard is heavily shaded.
ReplyDeleteHello Ann. Our gardens aren't very big so quite easy to look after. Being in a valley the sun sometimes takes a while to reach us. It's strange, but it can seem quite chilly at times where we are but, if we walk along the road a hundred yards, it feels much warmer!
DeleteThe good news about a long hot summer is that the roadside wildflowers are beautiful here and in the fall they become quite spectacular. So I guess the amber and yellows of the harvest season make up for not having a garden😊. I have to rely on my window boxes for the opportunity to dig a little dirt! Have a great week, Mike!
