A short wander around the harbour at Mevagissey, Cornwall on a pleasant day.
Lots of boats on display depending on the season,
Two more photos follow.
The white building is the SharksInn food outlet
The next photo is looking outwards along the coast from the harbour.
A quick glance now at a narrow Mevagissey street, which gets very busy in the summer months - and yes, it is two way traffic!
Back to the harbour
I'm pleased to see s new post from you Mike. Lovely to see some blue sky, it's been quite a while since we had a clear sky up here, and the boats are really colourful and bright. Popcorn and I are looking forward to some Spring weather to get out again too.
ReplyDeleteLovely night picture at Charlestown, mentioned a.while back about the tv series whichever there, forgot to say at the time but it explained how the town actually got it's name from.a.man called Charles.
Take care, David & Popcorn.
Hello David. Yes, it's good to have some decent weather, though it's rain again soon, unfortunately. Mevagissey is quite near to where we live - so pleasant to visit on a summer evening. Good wishes, Mike.
DeleteLike David I'm pleased to see a new post, Mike.
DeleteI was getting a bit worried and am glad to see that you are back and out and about.
I'm heading off to the USA in a week's time because my football team (The Sharks) are playing in Las Vegas (against the 4 x premiers The Panthers).
I'm kind of excited and at the same time s#it scared, as I have never left Australia before in my lifetime (and I'm now 60), apart from a trip to New Zealand in 1977, where I didn't need a passport, because traveling to New Zealand is like visiting your cousins to Aussies.
Which is funny considering the other NRL game being played in Vegas is the New Zealand Warriors vs the Canberra Raiders :-)
Hopefully it a good omen for us Sharks supporters traveling to the USA that you mentioned the Sharks Inn food outlet in your post :-)
DeleteGO THE SHARKIES!!!
Oh dear......predictive text has been having fun with my comments. I really should check more but I'm sure you get the gist.
ReplyDeleteI did a post about Charlestown and it's origins a while back -https://mikescornwall.blogspot.com/2019/10/old-vintage-photos-of-charlestown.html
ReplyDeleteI've replied to comments on my blog in the past and wondered why there was doubled spacing between my words?
DeleteGlad to see it's not just me :-)

ReplyDeleteYou need to delete the comment twice to remove the "This comment has been removed by the author" comment, I have learnt over the years from removing comments in which I have made a mistake in a comment, Mike.
DeleteDavid, sorry, I messed up the last bit of my comments!

See my comment above Mike :-)
DeleteHi Mike, I remember that post but did have a refresh viewing of it. The b&w photos have a lot of atmosphere. David.
ReplyDeleteIf I survive my American and Singaporean trips this year Mike, I might just fly over with my son and do some of these walks.
ReplyDeleteBut you know what they say?
If you want to make God laugh, tell God your plans :-P
